Found just downstairs from the iconic Daffodil Mulligan, Gibney’s was created by Tony Gibney, Richard Corrigan and John Nugent, who all share a passion for traditional Irish hospitality, where customers become friends.
Gibney’s mixes the spirit of an Irish pub, the dining experience of your favourite restaurant and the welcome you’d expect from your local. Whether it’s enjoying a restoratitive pint of Guinness, tucking into a temptingly deep-fried bar snacks, watching live music and sports, or throwing a party to remember, Gibney’s is the place for it all.
Craic central
The sports bar, an ideal drinking spot, and the perfect place to bring all your pals for a comedy night or a pint and a game of cards, Gibney’s is a hot spot for any kind of evening.
If you’re usually about for the sport, expect all the big games, crystal clear on the three big screens. Rugby, football, horseracing, the NFL, golf, you name it, Gibney’s will be showing it. The Gibney’s team recommend all sports viewings to be best enjoyed with a glass of something cold in hand.
If you’re more into a sing-along, Gibney’s regularly holds live music events for local and regional artists. Acoustic sets and traditional Irish Trad nights here are a must and the vibes are truly immaculate. Not to mention lively comedy nights where the craic is always in abundence. Keep an eye out for the performing artists and make sure the plans leave the group chat for a night at Gibney’s!
Cheers to that
Of course, you’re going to want something to drink at Gibney’s. Now, we’re not boasting but we do hold the title for one of the best-poured pint of Guinness this side of the Irish Sea…
As well as a pint of the Black Stuff, we also have a tempting selection of sparkling choices and a wide selection of classic wines from various vineyards across the world. Whites from Portugal, Rosé from Chile, and reds from France. As well as wine, we’ve also got a great selection of draught beer and cider that includes Heineken, Daffy’s IPA, Rye River Pale and our very own Gibney’s Stout!
Looking for something stronger? Well, lurking on our back bar you’ll also find an impressive choice of classic Irish Whiskey, and a selection of other spirits: Vodka, Tequila, Gin or Rum. Drink them on the rocks or explore our cocktail list.
Of course, if alcohol isn’t your tipple, we also have a selection of tempting mocktails and low and no options.
Fill your boots
The menu at Gibney’s is certainly one we’re proud of. Packed with a selection of bar bites you’ll be dreaming of long after your plate is empty. The Korean Pork Bites are especially popular, garnished with fresh sesame seeds and spring onion, and to pair with this, we recommend our iconic Salt ‘n’ Chili Fried Chicken, a crisp crunchy, perfectly seasoned bite of heaven. If we do say so ourselves. For our veggie visitors, the Cauliflower Bhaji with smoked pineapple and cashew cream is becoming a favourite, and our famous Daffy’s Croquette pairs perfectly with a glass of something cold and fizzy.
If you’re in the mood for sharing, order from our sister restaurant’s menu - conveniently located upstairs. The Suckling Pig is a sight to behold and the Wood-Fired Smoked Sirloin comes with optional bone marrow (we recommend you take it!).
