Best restaurant on Old Street
Dining at Daffy’s is a true treat. With great company, gorgeous atmosphere and a truly divine menu, this Old Street restaurant is perfect for a cosy date night, a gathering for all your pals, or an after-work catch-up that demands delicious grub.
The Daffy’s menu includes some terrific choices to spread across the table and share, incredible dishes for two (or more), and plates you won’t want to share at all. The produce at Daffy’s is always seasonal, so expect a menu that is always changing. However, if you’re looking for a glimpse of what eating at this restaurant near Old Street is like, you can expect to find dishes such as fresh Colchester Rock Oyster, dressed in ginger, lime and chilli. A superb Soused Mackerel with Granny Smith, chicory, horseradish and orange. Equally delicious Seared Hand Dived Scallops, Lamb Sweetbread with a tasty brown Butter, salsify and caramel, and crunchy Tempura Soft Shell Crab with gochujang and lime yoghurt. Not to mention the incredible Soy and Sesame Glazed Duck, perfectly sweet and sticky.
If you’re meat-adverse, that’s no problem, the menu show stoppers also include a delightful Cauliflower Bhaji with smoked pineapple and cashew cream, Harissa Cauliflower and flavourful Smoked Cassoulet.
If you’re down to share, you’ll have fantastic choices such as the Suckling Pig. Served with crispy pig ears and smoked pear. Alternatively, dive into a succulent Wood Fired Sirloin with your choice of leek or bone marrow butter and a selection of sides. Mouthwatering isn’t it?
An abundance of drink choices
If you’re here for the whole party, food and drinks too, you won’t be disappointed by the drinks menu. Do you fancy something sparkling? Who could blame you? The Daffy’s menu includes some lovely Champagne and sparkling wines, but we recommend you have a glass of Piper-Heidsieck or bubbly Blanc de Blanc. Or perhaps you’re more of a white wine drinker and looking for something to pair with the Tempura Soft Shell Crab? For this, a sweet and refreshing Chardonnay or a more crisp Sauvignon. If you prefer bold reds with deep tannins and hearty flavours to pair with the braised lamb shoulder, then you deserve a bold Pinot Noir or Di Majo, Sangiovese.
Of course, wine isn’t for everyone at Daffy’s, there’s also plenty of cocktails, spirits, draft and bottled beers. Have your pick of Budvar, Heineken, Daffy’s very own IPA, our famous Gibney’s Stout, or perhaps a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. When in Rome, aye!
This Old Street Restaurant doesn’t stop there, you’ll also have a huge selection of spirits, should you wish to delicately sip a G&T, or nurse a bold and robust Irish Whiskey. Simply ask your waiter, or perhaps head down to Gibney’s Bar afterwards and get better acquainted with the drinks menu.
If your visit to Daffy’s restaurant on Old Street is a no-alcohol affair, we also have a huge range of soft and still drinks available.
